Mixing metals is okay. Really. Some artisans worry about being consistent that they think it is wrong to mix. However, mixing your metals can be part of the design process. There are really no "rules" to design but the criteria should be "Does it look good to you?"

Take Judi's design here. It was almost all silver in colour. The thick oval rings were perfect frames for the textured vintage brass diamonds. The darker colour of the diamonds gave the design much more character than if she had used silver diamonds. So are you ready to mix?
