Often adult beaders are too cautious to try different combinations such as mixed metal elements. But children like 10 year old Katie rarely hesitate. I never hear them ask "Does this go with that?" You too can mix copper and gold. Just ask Katie.

She made a pair of earrings with burnished copper findings. Her dangle featured a pale pretty pink glass pearl. She also added gold faceted round beads, pale gold and black seed beads and sitting right on top are gold spectral cylindrical beads.

As you can see, Katie has shown us how mixing metallic colours can work. Some artisans haven't yet explored that possibility so do try it. I am partial to copper and silver myself.
