There are occasions when a box just won't do as a jewelry gift container. Sometimes a specially crafted gift bag is needed for a special someone or a valued customer. A handmade jewelry bag could also save you the cost of buying a jewelry traveling case. You can use so many pretty fabrics to customize the bag.

Cheryl over at the Texas Tootbloom blog wrote up a neat jewelry bag tutorial. The bag (shown above) has multiple inner compartments.
Too fussy for you? Then check out the simple jewelry pouch tutorial (Update : no longer available) by the talented Purl Bee. If you have a fabric stash to whittle down, whipping these pouches is just the ticket! As you can see below, you can make them in any size you want. Jewelry could be kept in separate ziplocks inside to keep them safe and tidy.
The above two tutorials require you sew in circles. If you can only do straight lines, then check out the rectangular drawstring bag tutorial (blog post not displaying) by Tania of Keepsake Treasures.
If on the other hand you are skilled in sewing, try Africankelli's really super tutorial on how to make your own fabric jewelry wrap . The design includes zippered sections.

These are great Pearl, thanks so much for posting. I've looked for the blog post for Keepsake Treasures and I can't locate it online. I would love to make the simple rectangular bag, as I have a lot of fabric and this would be a perfect use for my bead sales! If you can come up with it, that would be wonderful.
