Most of us regard wedding rings in the rosiest of terms for we hope the bond will lead to a lifetime of happily wedded bliss. Not so with the Reality Check Wedding Ring. This witty ring design incorporates 3 different rings which signify the three different stages of a relationship.
The first stage is all about candlelight, flowers and romance which is symbolised by a butterfly engagement ring. See the two end pieces? The butterfly ring is screwed in between them. Next, the wedding ring with its cage design attached over the butterfly implying the loss of freedom. The last stage, for divorcees, is the pliers ring to signify the opening of the cage and the release of the trapped butterfly!
The designer of this tongue-in-cheek ring is Netherlands based Josien Pieters who is currently a Masters student in Strategic Product Design. Where did all the romance go?

How funny! Interesting but strangely funny. I've even heard of divorce parties and divorce cakes. I think I'll stick with the butterfly ring. :-)
