Queen of Gems
Part 1 of 2
There is a well known saying - "The pearl is the queen of gems and the gem of queens" (author unknown). How true is it as pearls were once so rare only the very wealthy could afford them. Through the centuries, pearls were the epitome of class and elegance.
We still love them today! Pearls often crop up often in designs. Take the lace and pearl bracelet tutorial by Beverly over at the Flamingo Toes blog. It's based on a popular leather and bead bracelet design but Beverly made it look more feminine with pearls and a clever touch of lace.
I think this tutorial is worth bookmarking if you are making little flower girl bracelets for a wedding.

I am really enjoying the tutorials and all the great ideas I'm finding on the site. I am hoping to find some ideas and some sources for materials to make the cute funky chunky necklaces i am seeing at the craft fairs this season. Any help? Thank you, Sharon
