One artisan who recycles them into jewelry is Milan based Paola Mirai, the creator of Cirkuita collection. Paola meticulously dismantles unwanted gadgets and upcycles them into new "jewels".
She researched into and uses a new transparent and super light material ideal for jewelry making called Orotransperante. It's not clear exactly what it is but it it is probably some sort of resin.
You can see the process on her video here.
The rings and bangles are sleek and modern as well as astonishingly vibrant with color.

ReplyDeleteI'm in awe. The bracelets and rings are phenomenal. Though I realize there are components in our electronics that have precious metals such as gold and copper in them, I never realized just how beautiful they could be. Paola is definitely a reigning monarch of creativity ... not to mention ingeniousness. Totally awesome !
