Macrame artisan Monica over at the Smitten by a Knot blog is absolutely right. The beaded macrame bracelet is perfect as a unisex gift because with the sliding clasp, you don't have to size it accurately. It's quick too!
Her tutorial also makes use of chunky beads which I find are sometimes challenging to introduce into other jewelry designs. But not this one!
Monica's directions are very clear. Some of her tips are worth remembering if you do go on to do more kinds of knotting work. I'll definitely have to scout around for a clipboard and cut some thick cardboard or foam core to size.
And oh, be sure to take a look at the fantastic macrame bracelet at the top of her blog header!

This is a great tutorial. I been wanting to learn how to make the sliding clasp. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI just knew there was a reason that I stocked up on some big hole beads.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pearl.
Great bracelet and perfect for those that like an organic, casual look and, as you said, also great for the guys. I really like the way she made the sliding clasp, looks so much neater than the regular bulky sliding knots.
