Beaded beads are really handy to make for a couple of reasons. They are small projects in themselves and as such portable. So you could complete each bead as time permits.

The second reason is they can be incorporated into jewelry designs very easily.

CRYSTAL BALL BEADS
These tutorials do not use a foundation wooden ball.

The Chinese Ball tutorial is a simple right angle weave crystal ball shown above. It was written by Candie Cooper.

My Daily Bread also uploaded the video tutorials for this basic crystal ball.  Check out her Part 1 and Part 2.

SEED BEAD BALLS
Using wooden balls as foundation

Dyavas has a video tutorial to make netted seed bead ball around a wooden ball.  She uses a short length of straw to help her hold the wooden bead.

The Bead Friends' video tutorials features a charming Italian instructor who took the trouble to make them even though English is not her mother tongue. Bravo!  Her peyote stitch balls are her very own design.  You must be up to using 15/0 beads though!  Her videos comprise of Part 1 and Part 2.

Can't manage 15/0 beads, then check out the Beaded Bead Ball tutorial by Paula Morgan which uses 11/0 seed beads. There is of course, no need to follow the pretty pattern if you would rather use other colors!
