Wire trees are popular and fun to make. I've featured tree of life motifs before. But here is a great alternative - a wire family tree design which can be made into either a brooch or a pendant.
The tutorial by Disney (yes, that really is her name) over at Ruffles and Stuff shows how to wire wrap around either brooch pin or hang it to a necklace chain. I would use birthstone colors to represent family members.
It is a simple but delightful design that any beginner can attempt. But there is potential to add your own unique take to this basic design.
One of her readers did exactly that and came up with a wonderful polymer clay version on her blog, MoniKozi. This is a great example of how one medium can inspire another.
