Wood jewelry, unlike the metal variety is warm and has an old school charm. The two Australian based designers, Orr and Akiko behind bRainbow on Etsy certainly capture the retro look with a touch of whimsy with their original laser cut and hand pieced designs.
Many of the items are clearly inspired by old technology like the typewriter brooch shown above and the rotary dial phone earrings with hello captions below.
You've also got to be a certain age to remember the test screen patterns on televisions!
The wood, acrylic and leather camera necklaces below will remind you of old fashioned film cameras we never see any more.
Why bRainbow? They said, "A rainbow always appears after the rain and makes people smile:) A brain represents ideas, thinking and imagination. bRainbow combines these two elements with their unique selection of handcrafts."
Unique is the right word. Their shop is full of whimsical treasures inspired by all sorts of things and creatures. Well worth a wander!
