Many of the polymer clay pendants out there consist of forming the clay into shapes. I rather like this reverse and easy approach by Adrianne over on Happy Hour Projects. A large lucite flower was used. Some buttons are also suitable for this project.
Her tutorial kept the pendant simple with just a coat of glaze, making the pendant look like porcelain.
Other suggestions include using epoxy resin clay and adding paint or other small decorative objects in the depressions. Or use the idea for an easy metal clay.

The pendant is gorgeous and the tutorial makes it sound easy enough for even a beginner. Love the fact that there is no need to be an artistic sculptress in order to create this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for promoting such a beautifully simple project, Pearl... everyone can enjoy polymer clay :)
ReplyDeleteI firmly believe that it doesn't have to be complicated to get a beautiful result!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty pendant and looks so simple to make, even though polymer clay and I sometimes don't get along ;-D Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Linda. I didn't really get a long with plasticine as a child. My other foray into clay was a disastrous time at a pottery class. But I think I am beginning to reconsider polymer clay with easy projects like this one!
