California based TierraCast continues to bring out more gorgeous products. Shown above is the new collection that I received for review.  The new heart bezels are lovely - they come in a selection of bail orientations as well as with double loops.  These can be easily filled with colored resin or resin clay.  The option for customized colorization is useful.


They have also expanded their Swarovski crystal charms collection.  All that sparkle is sure hard to photograph!

With impeccable timing, their sports charms launched in time for the Rio Olympics. The games start in just a few days. So there will be much watching and cheering for your teams! 

Many of you do not know this. In my past life as an analytical toxicologist, I was fortunate enough to be a member of the drug testing team at the 1988 Winter Olympics. It was held in Calgary, Alberta where I was living at the time. Not surprisingly,  I have been closely following the recent doping scandal. The upcoming games and my previous analytical experiences also inspired my two bracelet designs below.

The charms come in variety of metal colors as well as textured finishes.  I wonder if the sizes chosen were relative to the different sports?  The baseball charms are small whereas some of the others like the soccer and basket ball ones were larger. I personally prefer smaller charms but then the larger ones will look great in necklaces.
TierraCast also makes all kinds of findings.  I love their 12G wire bracelets.  Shown below are the silver plated and gold plated brass ones.  They also come in bright brass, brass oxide and antiqued solid copper.  Each bracelet is hand-formed in China with third party compliance testing and then finished in the US.


Hand forming anything larger than 16G is tough to do so it is great to start off on this base.  Ever since I wrote about the tutorial for an easy coiled wire and wire wrapped bangle, I've wanted to try a different approach. These wire bracelets sparked a new method!  It is better than the original bangle I made because the hook clasp completes the design.  So I still got the informal wire look I wanted without having to struggle with thick wire!



The gold bracelet with the soccer ball charm and  bead wire wrapping celebrates Canadian flag colors. I took the wire coil idea a bit further with the silver one (with a volleyball charm) below with wire wrapped red, white (clear crystal) and blue crystals. These are the flag colors of not just the USA, but a long list of other nations such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Nepal, Chile, The Netherlands etc.

I also liked these sports related bracelet designs below by TierraCast's inhouse designers.  Great ideas if you want to gift a sports fan you know or get into niche jewelry selling with different team colors.
