Ludmila Bakulina is a remarkable polymer clay artist. Stunning designs. I especially loved her coral reef seascape pendants. She shows how to make them in a series of tutorials starting with some of the details, then making the scene and completing with bezel and bail. Grab yourself a cup of tea and watch! Well worth the view.

First, she shows us how she creates the coral-like design via the mokume gane technique. The scraps are put to good use in the creation of the main polymer clay design.

She also used some of the honeycomb mokume gane from this tutorial.

Next, she painstakingly built up several layers of the coral reef seascape polymer clay design. She gives a full list of what you need over on Youtube. She creates the illusion of depth using translucent clay layers. She also paints on some of the details.  The result is astonishing!

Finally, she created the textured bezel with an outline as well as the bail for the undersea design pendants. They are slightly domed which is achieved on the side of a bottle. She also shares tips on how to place them for baking.
