Resin jewelry lends itself well for those of you who love mixed media work. This easy tutorial by Resin Obsession shows how to use silicone texture sheets to get the the background. I love how she added the Pearl Ex pigments to the sheet and simply poured the resin over it ! You can get all sorts of cake maker's silicone texture sheets - but make sure these are dedicated for crafts!
Notice how she removed the partly cured resin sheet only after several hours? This sheet is thin enough to cut after full curing.
You can print words on paper too but make sure you seal everything before it goes into the resin. Or print on clear overhead sheets.
The instructor works in layers. I would put the colored sprinkles in a lower layer rather than the top where they are apt to float off the edges as these have done. But then, if you like avant garde - go ahead and add those at the end.
