Viking Knit is not only for tubular designs. This wire technique can be used to make a bezel around a cabochon.  But you can also consider incorporating it in a wire earrings design.  Aubrey Bouck shared her tutorial on how to make this pretty pair of earrings. The Viking Knit is in the background.

Part 1 shows how she creates the double frame and the Viking Knit part.  It is a pain to try and hold the two wire frames while wiring. So use short bits of masking tape as an aid!

And here is Part 2.  She creates the wire work focal in this section.  She is using silver wire with balled ends. Scroll the ends if you are unable or unwilling to use a torch!
