Brass is a mostly copper and zinc alloy. The beautiful golden color makes brass a great alternative to gold. Indeed, when allowed to patina over time, the brass turns into a mellow old gold hue.
Jennifer Wood of mignonnehandmade is based in PĂ©pieux, France. She designs and creates bespoke (custom) brass jewelry specifically for formal and wedding occasions. Some of her designs have a touch of Art Deco about them.
She has a remarkable talent for putting together different components of brass, gemstones and hand painted ceramic on brass components, resulting in stunning designs. She uses both wire work and soldering for her assemblage pieces.
A stunning collection which I am sure looks much better in real life. Her photos just do not do these designs of this skillful artisan justice!
