Side drilled beads like briolettes are a bit of a design challenge.  Wire workers often encase the top part. But I like what Sapphirus, the Japanese beader did.

The lovely beaded briolette tutorial adds a round crystal to the top with surrounding gold Miyuki seed beads.  The combined beadweaving sections balances the briolette at the bottom.

Read her instructions and materials listings in the Youtube description box.  She recommended the use of seed beads with a Dura Coat finish to protect them from chain abrasion.
