I featured Arizona based Barb Smith's work before (here and here). Her style of knotted bead and leather bracelets has a distinct and attractive Southwestern style as you can see from my favorites shown above and below.
She sells her finished jewelry in BarbSmithDesigns but also offers tutorials and kits in BarbSmithDesignsDIY for those who want to make their own. It's so useful to learn the process from a professional to get a polished finish. She does a fabulous job especially with the button clasp bracelets.
Barb sells kits too which is useful for those who don't have the time to find the right components or those who don't want to be left with excess materials after a project.
Do note that her kits do not come with tutorials which have to be purchased separately.
I love how she has many widths of bracelets- from skinny ones to wider affairs. She uses different shaped beads including metal ones to great effect. Which are your favorites?

I have long admired Barb’s work but have yet to try one of her kits or patterns! I would love to win a gift certificate to her shop! Thank you for the opportunity! I am a blog subscriber as well.

I bought some of her kits after you last featured her designs. One thing I really like is there are instructions for making the bracelets SHORTER which is great because I have really tiny wrists and a 7 inch bracelet (which most kits/patterns seem to be) is way too big for me.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, would love to be entered. I see some designs above that are new to me.
So gorgeous, love these styles. Would love to win!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It inspires me to see these! I always enjoy your blog series!
ReplyDeleteI've been accumulating some supplies to make something like her designs. Would love to be entered and win so that I have a bigger incentive to start working on these projects.
ReplyDeleteBarb's work is stunning! I especially love The Tila Band & Clinging Vine. I'm going to put them in my cart & hope to win before hitting 'send'! 😊. Just beautiful! 😍

Thanks, Carol
After having made more than 100 wrap bracelets I still find myself drawn to these kinds of bracelets.
ReplyDeleteBarb's designs are gorgeous and I love her southwestern look. There's something about turquoise and metal beads that make me always say - oh - I need that! And with someone with a larger wrist I'm happy to hear that there are instructions on how to adjust for different measurements.
Thank you for this giveaway !

I have fallen in love with her designs and would love to have a kit. The closest store that would have all the required supplies is almost 50 miles away
ReplyDeleteThe last time I ordered beads on line my order, according to the tracking number, sat in one place in CA for three weeks.
Wow, these are beautiful designs, I wish I knew about this sooner to be buying kits already. I definitely have a lot more to add to my wishlist now!
