This gorgeous 3D chain link necklace tutorial using odd count peyote stitch is by the Japanese beading company, Luwan Beads Global. Contemporary elegance when done with metallic beads.
The tutorial is in 3 parts all carefully done. What is not clear until the last one is that 2 sizes of links are needed so that the necklace tapers to the smaller ones at the back of the necklace.
Part 1 shows how a large size 3D link is formed using 15/0 seed beads. The use of different colored beads in this tutorial is so helpful. It is important to use Delica beads for the inner core in order for the link to sit tight and snug when it is "zipped up". The zipping up part was so satisfying to watch!
Part 2 demonstrates a smaller size link, without a core. The second part of the video shows how to form a loop for attaching the clasp.
Part 3 shows how the links, both large and small sizes, are connected. Great tip with the paper tape to help hold the links together while working on the connecting one. The assembly of small and large links are shown in this part.
