Simple designs are not hard to do. But a great design needs a lot of creativity. British wire jewelry instruction, Teresa Kennard of of Lily-Tree on Youtube has it in abundance. Plus, she is a splendid teacher.  I highly recommend her channel.

This wire wrapped earrings tutorial of hers features hammered wire ends. What is neat is she puts the ball head pin upside down. So it is the hammered wire ends which holds the beads in place.

She does mention that you do not have to use a torch to make the ball headpins. You can just do more hammering and file to shape. 

It's a pleasing design because it has balance - the round wire frame on top compliments the round bead.
