Bead embroidery lends itself to the making of stunning jewelry. Ukrainian bead artist, Maryna of YatsuraBead, turns her talent into making exquisite insects, most notably as brooches out of beads and other materials.
Her attention to detail is noteworthy. She uses crystals such as for the green beetle shown above. Wood and epoxy resin was used to form the "horned" head.
Other inclusions include petit point (tent stitch) details - you can see it in the body of the gold spider below :
The butterfly barrette below has a gemstone body and its antennae and legs are movable!
Her dragonfly design not only includes crystals and seed beads but also wire, French paillettes (sequins) on Italian lace.
