I am pretty sure I am not the only one looking for ways to use up crochet thread! Here are three splendid earrings tutorials by Sri Lankan Hiruni on the HiruHandmade Crochet Youtube channel. They are all uniquely different. She lists the supplies used in the video descriptions.  

Note that you will be using hook sizes around 1.0 mm. But expect to adapt the hook size or the crochet thread thickness (#8-10) to get tight and small designs. 

Crochet cotton in #20 and #40 thicknesses are also available for those who really want to venture into micro crochet work!

The first is her tear drop earrings shown above. I've never really used treble crochet stitches before but they come in handy for this shape!


I also like her crochet leaf earrings tutorial. She effectively uses 3 turning stitches at the top of the design.


This two color hexagon earrings pattern is also lovely and stylish.
