Kedmi Hanan's final project at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Israel was a challenge he rose to in an admirable fashion. He was looking for "experimental material combinations."

His Felt Follows Form collection of felted rings marries the ancient craft with modern high tech components. As he said in his blog, it's the "low tech fashion production of high tech jewelry'! This is eco jewelry at its finest!

He said, "I was inspired by the esthetics of the heat sinks which are devices attached to computer parts that tend to get overheated."

I particularly like how he uses the felt to form the ring as well as hold these parts in innovative ways. If any have doubted if felt could be used in jewelry, these photos should convince you otherwise!
