Chain Necklace Makeover to a Panja Bracelet

By on Friday, February 07, 2014 2 Comments

Got an old chain necklace with simple charms that you don't wear much anymore?  Well, give it a good makeover and convert it into something very trendy these days - a slave bracelet.

These are combination ring and bracelet Indian style jewelry most of us are familiar with.  The Indians call them panja bracelets.  The term slave bracelet is also commonly used. Nothing to do with the slave trade  - just that the ring is slave to the bracelet or vice versa.

Check out the tutorial by Gloria over at College Fashion.  She writes the Gloriously Chic blog. Gloria also mentioned the alternative names for this style of jewelry now popularized by some celebrities - hand harness, armor bracelet, or hand flower.

  1. Good morning Pearl. This is beautiful. I did a post this week that is just the reverse of this. I took a bracelet and made it into a necklace with matching earrings. You can see it here: http://www.reginaatthelake.com/2014/02/diy-bead-and-button-necklace-and.html

As always, I love the things that you do here.
