Wire work designers who wish to add a pop of color to their work often start with a cabochon. Here are 6 fabulous designs which feature beautiful tear drop cabochons.  The designs I've select range from intermediate to advanced in terms of skill level.

Shown above is the spectacular manta ray pendant tutorial by US wire artist, Rina Rahmi of  MozaVibeTutorial.  I like how she provided the two loops at the top for attaching to the chain. This is a nod to the horn-like fins they have on both sides of their mouths. Manta rays are related to sharks but they are completely harmless as they are filter feeders. An elaborate design to celebrate the gentle graceful giants of the oceans.

This wonderful frog wire wrapped pendant is one of my favourites. The South Carolina based designer, MissB calls her shop,  ShopInBed!

Another gem is by Toronto based Canadian wire artist Lucie of Wireupgem. Her turtle wire wrapped tutorial uses crystal tear drops. You must take a look at her musical instrument designs. I raved about them in a past post here

I have often featured Portugal based Erika Pal of WireArtTutorials' designs before. This prolific designer cam up with a majestic wire wrapped eagle pendant tutorial.

Erika also created this lovely wire wrapped swan pendant tutorial.

This sweet wire wrapped owl pendant design is by Slovakian wire artist,  Iren Adler. I like how she suspends the drilled teardrop cabochon instead of encasing it with wire worki.
