It's been a while since I featured craft egg tutorials before - see past features in the links at the end. But my word, there are new and fabulous patterns out there today. Here are some wonderful examples and not just from the beading world.

First up is the beaded egg tutorial by AjaBeads which cleverly features "candies". She is a great designer whose work I have featured many times before.

Hannah over on LittleOakDesignCo has some gorgeous felt and embroidery patterns. Her Easter egg patterns are so pretty.

These colorful crochet Easter eggs are a great yarn buster. The pattern is by TGCraftbyKaren.

Eggs are not oval. The shape is actually called ovoid with one end a little wider. One designer, HeatherHandmadeShop, has figured out the ovoid pattern to sew for fabric Easter eggs. Another stash buster for those with a scrap fabric hoard!

WonderlandUkraine has long been a favourite laser cutting craft shop of mine. Here is their DIY Easter egg bead embroidery kit to decorate and then use as bead storage containers! They have tons and tons of DIY kits to suit every taste.

The second design features an Easter bunny with a tiny cart and of course, eggs!

I absolutely love how AsszaBeadingArts created a beaded net cover for single colour eggs!

Egg Decor from Around the World

We often associate decorated eggs with Easter such as the beautiful Ukrainian Pysanka Easter eggs from SparrowJewelryStore . They have so many other examples.

African artisans are not limited to small eggs. This incredible carved ostrich egg lampshade from JNGcape features African animal designs.

Indeed, the art of egg decorating goes back a long way. The oldest egg shells which were engraved with hatched patterns, date back to 60,000 years ago and were discovered in the Diepklof Rock Shelter in South Africa.

This rare find is a vintage Aboriginal Australian hand carved emu egg. Available from AncestralAntiques.

This set of vintage Chinese hand painted eggs showcase traditional patterns. Available from TheOldcrafts.

China has a long history in the carving arts. Watch this short video of how this modern day Shanxi Datong (northern China) artisan carves a beautiful egg decoration using both brown and white eggs.  Imagine how painstaking the work would have been in the old days before electric tools!
