Crochet and knitting have had a huge revival in the last few years. It's no longer the kind of craft you associate with grannies! Not surprisingly, these crafts have crossed over into jewelry making. One example is this outstanding picot crochet flower necklace was created by Brook G on Cut Out and Keep. It suits those who favor casual looks and sure does perk up a plain top or dress.

She based the flower part on SkaMama's Bone Hook's Picot Flower tutorial and the vine and fastener pattern on the tutorial by Creativeyarn. I like the way she chose to make the leafy parts trail down in uneven lengths. She cleverly placed the crochet loop closure behind the flower where she pulled the vines through.

If you don't like the crochet chain, you can always link up with metal chain. An example of this is JessayahX's crochet flower necklace also on Cut Out and Keep.
