Art Beads' design challenges are always fun. For this round of their blogger design partner program, they chose a "Winter Enchantment" theme. I wonder if many of the designs will be white or silver based like mine!

I just had to pick the gorgeous solid sterling silver snowflake pendant I spotted in their pendant section. I also choose clear Swarovski crystals with an AB (aurora borealis) finish for added sparkle as well as the necessary sterling silver findings.

I also used other selections from my own stash including some pretty crystal encrusted "snowballs". The faceted beads on the left had a mirror like finish which added to the sparkle.  The white seed beads were for contrast.

I like to do wire knitting (and crochet) and indeed this design is one of my "signature" styles.  With so much white, silver and sparkle, photographing this necklace was a struggle! I don't think I captured it well enough.   It's now a Life Collection design in my shop where 100% of net proceeds will go to cancer research.

I didn't use the chain because it was too small for the clasp so I had to substitute with a chain of small jump rings I had in my own collection. But I really love using the sterling silver crimp covers. I doubled the crimps not so much for extra security but for the look - an idea I picked up from a video tutorial (see link below).

Almost all of my designs are one of a kind although the general techniques I use might be the same for many pieces.

This cream and sparkle necklace below is currently in the Caribbean for a beach wedding of a local bride! It features a beautiful mother of pearl pendant and Swarovskis pearls and crystals galore. The cultured pearl dangle has an embedded Swarvoski crystal.
