Remember that Viking knit or net woven wire bezel tutorial for pendants I wrote about? Well, here is another outstanding idea along the same lines! The tutorial is by a Hungarian artisan, Jade. She made earrings but we all know that pendants are also possible!
It's a little hard to read as Google Translate doesn't work properly. But fortunately Jade provided key photographs so we can see how she made it. I must say that the net weaving really does frame the beads oh so prettily.
The beads she used are not cabochons but vertically drilled ones. If you have cabochons, then adapt the design so there are additional wires behind them to hold them securely.

Wow, these are lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design. It is great to have some variety in designs for cabochon bezels!
ReplyDeletePearl, that website is awesome and chock full of great tutorials. I'd advise anybody to use the link you provided and spend an hour surfing the blog like I just did. Thanks again for another terrific post.
ReplyDeleteJade has some lovely creations on her website. It is a shame that Yahoo Babel Fish and Google translations can't seem to get it right.
ReplyDeleteYes, her site is worth the exploration although one has to rely heavily on the pictures. No translation software is ever good enough!
ReplyDeleteI should really try this, as I have some patterned flat beads and the pattern would match the wire weaving perfectly.
