Sometimes we just want contrast in jewelry designs. This easy woven wire and cotton bracelet tutorial by Kris DeGraeve over on How to Do This does just that. The cotton not only adds the color contrast but also binds the long lengths of wire together.
I also liked her simple wire triangles which captured the loops of the wire lengths and provided the anchor points for the chain and the clasp.
Are you thinking what I am thinking? Replace the cotton with wire! I would only use one not two lengths of wire. What would look good is to mix metals - say copper and silver for a striking design!

This is great! Especially for those people who have trouble with using wire because of the kinking and the pressure on your wrists...aka - carpal tunnel.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many wonderful colours in cotton that the designs could be endless.
It's nice to see something a little different. I've seen twine and leather but the combination of thread and wire is both unique and attractive. And I agree with you, Pearl, her triangular end pieces are very clever.
