These colorful suncatchers certainly caught my eye when I first saw them on Facebook. The eco diy mandalas are made from old CDs, beads and even broken jewelry! A lovely little project to brighten up the home especially in the winter months!
The video tutorial is by Maria Amora, a Brazilian crafter. The materials list is also in English in the beginning. Check out your local craft store for dimensional and transparent paints. Otherwise there is no sound except for the tinkling of the mandalas nearby. Hence no translation is necessary. She uploaded the template for the mandala here,
She has a very clever and quick way to get the printed label off the CDs to reveal the translucent base.

Pearl, you just have to stop coming up with more and more interesting things to do. I can't find enough time to do half of the wonderful things you show on your blog. Guess sleep is the next thing to cross off my list.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Wayne

ReplyDeleteI love wind chimes and shiny things around the outdoors. This is something I'd do with all kinds of designs in it....
Very cool.
