Watching unboxing and reveals is always fun. I've never had the opportunity to do one until now. I was delighted when I received this mystery box from Dollar Bead Box! This Chicago based small business run by Mary Noble and her friend aims to provide their Dollar Bead Club members with beads and beading products.

They provide two types collections each month - a Dollar Bead Bag as well as a Dollar Bead Box. You can purchase a particular month's box or bag of goodies. Or you can go for a monthly subscription plan at a reduced cost. Only US clients will get free shipping on Box and Bag Subscriptions.

Members can also reorder subscription items as well as hundreds of other items for just $1 each.  Hence the name of the club! You can see how the Dollar Bead Box system works here.  Dollar Bead Bag subscription system is different

Mary explained how the Dollar Bead Box came about. She said, "I came into this business in a slightly roundabout way. Much of my early career was spent working with cultural and non-profit institutions – museums, theaters, zoos, foundations, etc. A good friend of mine was in the bead business and got me started making jewelry just a short time ago. I’m still very much a beginner, but I love trying out different techniques and finding new items to inspire my designs."

She added, "I tend more toward the “business” side of the company vs. the “creative” side. My partner has many long-term relationships with vendors all over the world and is able to source quality products, many of them unique to the Dollar Bead Box. (I get to be the “kid in the candy store!”)."
"
They said they didn't want to do kits but by providing a subscription box, they hope people will discover items they might not usually purchase.  I think it also provides people with a little creative push when they see what comes each month.

So on to the reveal!  I received both the Bead Bag and the Bead Box.  The winner of this giveaway will get the current month's offerings.

It was exciting to look into the box!

DOLLAR BEAD BAG

This subscription has just the right sizes - 3 and 4 mm Czech Fire Polish beads  -  to suit beaders. If you bead a lot, this allows you to accumulate a variety over time.

At $8 a month, that works out to be just $1 each luscious strand! With reorders at the same cost during the same month.

DOLLAR BEAD BOX

The Dollar Bead box subscription usually contains 12 - 15 items with a guaranteed total retail value of $60.

I took the metal components out to examine them.  These are lovely components to use for jewelry making.
This particular bead box also contained some metal findings.  There was no information about what sort of metal the ear wires were. Perhaps silver plated?  You can contact them to find out more.

The Czech beads are gorgeous.  One can tell these have been carefully selected. The complimentary colors of some of the strands can be combined in different jewelry designs.

I must say the I loved all the items in both the box and bag.  I also liked this subscription service so much so that I am an affiliate now for this small company.
