I like St Petersburg chain but even better when the beaded element is in multiples. BronzePony BeadedJewelry shared her tutorial on how to make a necklace and a bracelet doing just that. What I really liked about the design is not just the way the necklace came together at the front , but also the way a lovely focal is added.
You do need a lot of 3 mm round beads or pearl - approximately 400 of them for the necklace. She used my favorite size of seed beads - 8/0!
I had to chuckle. One of her focals came from the Dollar Bead Box - remember my Reveal and Giveaway from a while back?
Here is her bracelet video for those of you who want to make a matching set.
If you use plastic or wooden focals and buttons, then someone who is metal allergic will be fine wearing these creations!

This is one of my favorite stitches. Looks elegant, easy to do, and lays flat.
ReplyDeleteI like it too! The results are pretty.
DeleteMy favorite seed bead size is also 8/0. I may have to learn the St. Petersburg chain because these pieces are beautiful. Thanks.
