Marion Lapinski of Lille, France is a woman of many talents. She is a model trainer, interior designer and a whiz at using the laser cutter. She specializes in laser cut and engraved wood and plexiglass jewelry and fills her shop, Papank, with different designs.
She designs on the computer and then takes the design to the laser cutter which cuts out the shape. Shallower application of the laser results in engravings. Marion hand colors and assembles the finished designs.
She chooses clear or colored plexiglass in subtle colors like gold or silvery grey. Her geometric and structured patterns shows her love for architectural elements.
Why Papank? Apparently it is a made up word for a game created by a little girl dear to her heart. The "call to play and thus childhood" appealed to her!

ReplyDeleteMarion's work is - incredible. And a laser cutter to boot? Wow....so jealous!
Yes, that is a perennial problem with many featured designers. They are so good and prolific, I have a hard time picking. I am jealous too!
