Dealing with scraps is a common problem across many crafts. But a problem can sometimes become a new creative endeavor.

Check out Kim Korringa's easy peasy scrap polymer clay mosaic tutorial over on Cynthia Tinapple's Vimeo channel. Cynthia, as many polymer clay enthusiasts already know, curates polymer clay art on her blog.

The tutorial really solves scrap accumulations. All you have to do is stack them up and form a cube or brick.  I love how Kim's leftover canes make every face of her starting cube so colorful.

The mosaic is made by first cutting a thin slice from the scrap cube. Then it is laid on a light polymer sheet. Thin strips are then placed on a dark sheet. This last step is then repeated once more onto another dark sheet.

What a simple technique and yet so effective! Well worth watching.
