Not every one is into wire work. That is why I liked this easy macrame bezel tutorial by EasyMeWorld. It also solves the problem of how to bezel an irregular nugget. You don't have to use gemstones either. The instructor mentioned painted stones!
She uses hemp which I personally find quite coarse and stiff. So I would personally use softer macrame cords.
The clever part of this tutorial is how she creates loops along both sides of the knotted strip. She uses some of the cord ends to tighten the macrame work around the stone.
Note that she only shows how to bezel the stone but not the necklace portion itself. Allow longer cords if you plan to make the rest of the necklace yourself with simple knotting and the addition of beads now and then.
