Copper is a wonderful metal to work with and to wear. It is particularly malleable. When antiqued, the copper becomes much more mellow and that suits people like me whose skin tone does not go well with bright copper!
One copper wire jewelry artist and designer is Ukrainian Lena Sinelnik of Lena Sinelnik Art. I had previously featured her wonderfully fluid work before but I wanted to showcase not just her new designs but also her tutorials!
She has a wonderful talent for working with irregular gemstones, showing them off as well as integrating them with her wire and metal work.

Oh Wow! What stunning work! As you know Pearl - I love working with copper! It's easy to manipulate and with a patina on it it's simply gorgeous. Add to that the fact that it's a warm metal. That means when you wear it you can feel the warmth of your own body being generated back from the piece. I love that about it!
ReplyDeleteLena's work is simply inspirational! Thanks for showcasing her!
