I am sure some of you have saved on not buying beading boards like these by simply using a tray or a cookie sheet.  I've done that in the past and lined it with some felt.

However, this clever craft mat hack from the Graphics Fairy LLC uses something other than felt. The liner is cut from a non-stick back and grill mat.  These are actually for lining the bottom of ovens to collect and prevent spills from burning.

As it is heat resistant, you can wash it with hot soapy water.  Any hot glue spills or paint drips can easily be peeled off!  Neat idea.
