It's no secret why Etsy is my favorite hunting ground for great designers. This large marketplace is filled with a lot of talented craftspeople.  Thousands of them submitted designs for this year's Etsy Design Award competition.

The 100 finalists from around the world  have been chosen by judges. Now it is time for you and me to vote for our favorites. Just mark your favorites (the heart symbol on listings).  The top voted finalist will win US$5000.  We have until July 20th to do so. The winners of each category will be announced in August.

US buyers can earn an Etsy credit worth US$10 if they used Klarna when purchasing from a finalist's store. Note : Most Etsy stores now offer Klarna payments to US buyers (other countries to follow). Klarna is an online payment company which offers interest-free purchasing in 4 installments.

I've voted for my favorites from the Editors' picks and here are some of them. Which one would you choose?

JEWELRY

Pencil Shavings Earrings in Brass by Isabelle, the French designer behind monochromatiques.

These transparent acrylic geometric combination earrings are the work of Kristen, the Canadian designer who owns Combinist. My guess is these are laser cut.

The modern esthetic of Canadian designer, Tamara of thisilk can be seen in her vintage lace floral earrings. She hand dyes vintage lace for her wonderful, varied creations.

ART

This awesome wildflower stained glass bouquet is by Belgium designer, Noor, of GLASenGLAS.

Israeli Rael's Wire Sculpture fish mobile is currently low in stock.  This metal artist is working hard to replenish stock in his shop, ExpandLifeMetalArt, with the attention his design has caught in just a couple of days since Etsy released the list of finalists.

BAGS AND ACCESSORIES

Hours and hours of handwork went into the making of this organic Portuguese straw/reed basket bag by Vitória of PTVictoriaHandmade. It's a craft that has been in her family since the 1950's.

CLOTHING & SHOES

Argentinian graphic designer turned shoe designer, Silvana of QuieroJune,  makes gorgeous shoes to wear and to dance in! This is her suede Lorna Green design

FURNITURE

The craftsmanship of American designers, wrenandcopper, can be seen in this ash and marble contemporary table in the brutalist style. It was inspired by the concrete architecture of the 1960's and 1970's.

HOME & LIVING

These porcelain hand vases by Belgin, a UK based designer (BelginBozsahinArt), is such a different take on the humble vase.

This knitted doe scarf with dots by Dutch designer Nina (NINAFUEHRER), is not just for kids!

PETS

This modern cat or small dog faux felt cave is definitely for the pampered 4 legged creatures in our lives. The designer is Ukrainian Hennadii of FourPawsAtelier, who creates different items for pets.

WEDDINGS AND CELEBRATIONS

This rose gold metallic flaked bridal veil probably looks even more gorgeous in real life. It's by US designer, Monique of CleoandClementine

She'll see it coming with this lovely copper and glass proposal ring box! Ukrainian craftsman Ostap and his brother of Leosklo,  have been making stained glass work since their childhood.

This strikingly simple yet elegant tulle wedding cape is a refreshing change from overly lacy bridal wear. US designer Keisha is the creator behind thelotusbloomco

I've featured France based Jennifer's store, mignonnehandmade, before. This is her wonderful hand painted brass Cybele Crown (tiara).

VINTAGE

This section is for superbly sourced handmade items from the past such as this 1970's woven straw bag from UK based Karolina (SidelineParadise). She has a sharp eye for great clothing and accessories designs from the past.
