UK designer, Christina Larsen of CSLDesigns, is one of my favorite wire work designers. Her Youtube channel is full of her amazing ideas and designs. Here is one of them.
She calls it a triple twist wire work bracelet. What it really consists of is wire braiding with some tight wire twisting. She offers both a plain and beaded version as well as two different ways to finish the bracelet.
What you need and what she uses are all in the description section of her Youtube tutorial. Christina makes it look easy but note - she has tons of experience and very strong fingers! So take your time working with thicker wire.
The most challenging part is to make the braiding and twisting even. She shares her tips on how to adjust as you go along.

very lovely designs. and the wire holds that shape, "work hardened"? i'd be concerned it would squash out of shape.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't use soft wire - half hard will be the way to go.
DeleteI've been a fan of Christina for longer than I can remember. Her talents with wire always amaze me. Unfortunately, even watching her skill has not improved my skill - wire just doesn't work for me. But I do enjoy watching her manipulate it into beautiful creations.
ReplyDeletePractice makes perfect, as they say. And I find that to be true.
DeleteI'm heading over to see how this is done. It's very intriguing. I've been doing a lot of wire and metal work lately and I think I've been challenged!
