Domestika, the European based online class site for creatives everywhere, has a huge sale on now. The discount is extensive - up to 75% off - and for a wide variety of subject matter.
As many of us head into the colder and traditionally crafty time of year, this offer was too good not to mention!
You can see their Black Friday selection here. I bought my first one some time ago for resin jewelry making (see my review on Mia Winston- Hart's Resin Jewelry Design here) and am working through on my second class. I like how the instructors cover the basics as well as inspire students to do more. Indeed the essence of being a good teacher is not to assume anything.
There is also a special Black Friday Multicategory Course Bundle at US$33.90 which works out to be just US$6.78 per course!
Here is a quick look at a few of the featured classes.

I wish they had some kind of annual or monthly subscription. Sometimes it is just really hard to tell if a course will click for me until I've watched one or two actual instructional sessions. This is why I like Craftsy, and why I liked the video subscription from Interweave, and why I like the Long Thread Media subscriptions -- you pay a monthly or yearly fee and get access to everything, so you can just quit halfway through if something isn't working out, and you don't feel like your fees have gone to waste because there are half a dozen other things you may like better. I've been really hesitant so far to pay for single courses outside of a subscription.
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent observation. I will pass on your suggestion to Domestika.
DeleteThat would be great! I've paid upwards of US$100 for annual subscriptions if there is enough material that potentially interests me, which I think there would be here.
