Polymer clay artists can really imitate many materials. This wonderful and gorgeous faux leather polymer clay bracelet tutorial has the texture and flexibility just like the real thing!
The artist is the super talented Ukrainian, Ludmila Bakulina of SweetyBijou. She has a number of excellent faux polymer clay tutorials on her Youtube channels - Ludmila Bakulina and as SweetyBijou.
I particularly love how she added the polymer clay bezels around the stone. This detail adds to the luxurious feel of her design. Her stamped logo on the back of the work is also a classy touch.
She used Fimo Leather Effect. They come in a variety of colors and are available from many vendors. There is even a set of colors if you just want to try it out. They are ideal for all kinds of faux, or if you wish to call it so, vegan leather projects such as tassels!
The special cutters, textures and tools are available on her website. Ludmila does offer discounts (a special gift for yourself perhaps?) over on her Etsy for purchases made on her own site.
