I've always admired wire artists who can sketch with "fil-de-fer" (French for wire). They can capture the essence of an object or element with deft turns of the wire. Canadian artisan, Kauri Bendickson is one of those!

Her store bykauri offers many wonderful wire bookmarks. Some are designed to sit at the top of a page, others are meant to be put in between pages. I also love her wall art and ornaments.  All show her wonderful skill with wire.

As you can see, Kauri also "writes" with wire and the combination of initials, names with her design elements forms the basis of her custom services.

Kauri says :
My art is envisioned and created on the beautiful Vancouver Island in British Columbia. I'm a precarious balancing act between academic and artist, writer at my core, with some dry humor around my edges.
She is clearly a book lover herself and is inspired by animals to boot!
