Chevron designs are on trend! Check out this easy square stitch chevron earrings tutorial by Susan for Artbeads. The modern style reminds me of stylized feathers too. She uses Toho Aiko beads.
Square stitch allows the beads to sit aligned and getting the point right is straightforward.
The color combinations you can use for this design is endless. It helps to choose a light background color, a dark color and a bright contrast color for the vertical line.
The full tutorial and supplies list is here. Artbeads also has lots of printable seed bead graph paper including the one for square stitch for your own designing and color palettes.

I really like this stitch. After all these years, I had never used it. How did I miss it!! But I can see that it will probably quickly become one of my favorites. I like the look of loomed work but hate having to finish it off - voila!! Problem solved. Thanks, Pearl!!
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on! The look of loom without the ends. But I find it a slow stitch so it's great for small projects like earrings.
DeleteI tried it for the first time, and I agree. It is slow and defintely better for small projects.
