Beaded ball earrings are fun to make and wear! They are super light especially you can get polystyrene balls for the inside. Check out these tutorials from great designers.
The first is the colorful tutorial for a pair, shown above, in happy colors! The Dutch designer is BettyBeadingjewelry.
She also has another tutorial for smaller ball earrings which can be paired with pearls.
This third tutorial is the daintiest of them all and uses 10 mm pearls for the inside. You can see why they are called berry earrings. The designer is BeadedJewelry of PhiHuong Accessories.
She also has this tutorial for a dainty pair in Swarvoski crystals - or whatever they call them now!
Last but not least, and my favorite of them all, is this elegant tutorial also from PhiHuong using small 3 mm bicones. It is the only one which does not need internal beads.
H/T to Aims of Big Blue Barn Designs for these finds.

Never occurred to me to use polystyrene. I have a lot of wood beads for the centers of beaded beads, which is a similar concept, but those would definitely get heavy. (Naturally Amazon has many polystyrene balls in a variety of sizes including some suitable for earrings.)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Wood would be too heavy for earrings!
