Sometimes I wish long hair suited me because hair jewelry can be so pretty for formal occasions as well as practical for when hair needs to be up and out of the way.
Shown here are 8 hair stick, pin and fork styles which would suit every taste. First up is the gorgeous statement wire wrapped hair stick shown above, by Ngọc Hân Chế of Rainingonisteria in Texas. The design reminds us of hanfu or traditional Chinese dress. In those days, women had long hair and if they were rich enough, styled elaborately and decorated with pins such as these.
Also by the same artisan is this kawaii hair pin featuring a cat fishing!

These are all a lot fancier than the scrunchies I wear that I got in a pack of 60 for like $12 on Amazon...
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, long hair doesn't suit me, which doesn't keep me from admiring these beauties! and, I'm thinking of gifts for those who do have long hair. thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSigh. This post has me sitting here trying to think my hair longer! I love all of these - but my hair is about 1/4" long! Sigh....
ReplyDeleteRainingonisteria is currently not selling on Etsy...
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know! That's the problem with me writing ahead - shops do close for whatever reason.
DeleteI’m particularly interested in your post because I just finished reading a wonderful book, Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See. It takes place in the 1400’s in Imperial China, and the main character, Lady Tan is a wealthy woman who mentions the use of elaborate “hair jewelry “. So, thank you!I follow your posts whenever they appear!
