Crafters are an amazing breed. Their creativity and flare for handmade designs using a variety of techniques and materials never fail to impress. Shown here are some of my favorites - a list I found incredibly hard to put together because there were so many outstanding designs to consider.  Please also see the links at the end for tutorials if you would rather make your own Christmas ornaments.

Many of the designs I chose are of animals which show these creators' love of nature themes.  Shown above is a beautifully painted wooden cat ornament above - the short video in the listing shows how steady and swift the artist's hand as Yuliia of UkrGiftsShop works her magic.

The enchanting wood robin ornament below has a hand hewn look about the design. Unusually, it is a clip on ornament which adds to the charm of the bird ornament sitting on a Christmas tree. The designer is Hong Kong based Jack Wong of WoodenIslands. He has other bird designs in his shop.

The lovely colorful felt gingerbread house ornaments below were made by Ukrainian artisan, Iryna Morozova of SnowFelts.

These lovely beaded animal ornaments will add a little of Africa to Christmas trees! These are sourced by ThumbprintFairTrade.

Some designers are marvelous artists. These hand painted landscape wood slice ornaments were finished with resin. Handmade by Canadian artist, Magdalena of LenasSimpleCrafts

These adorable fused glass cat ornaments will prettily adorn Christmas trees but cannot be considered charms against real cats climbing them! The Canadian glass artisan is Violet of VioletFinversGlass.

Those who love traditional Christmas glass baubles will appreciate this set of Egyptian hand blown glass ornaments decorated with 14 K gold. Designed by the GlassBlowingMuseum in Egypt.

This sweet robin on a holly branch ornament is the work of Pennsylvanian artisan Jane of chaddsfordjewelry.  Her metal work jewelry designs are just lovely!

These bird themed ornaments are beautifully hand painted on oyster shells. Florida based Edmund of AtlantiqueDesigns does a lot of lovely work with oyster shells.

These adorable reindeer Christmas ornaments were made from silver plated forks. The creator is Kentuckian, Emily Hampton of SpoonJewelrybyEmily.
