I must confess I am not fond of wide bangles. But skinny ones? Sign me up! Here are some lovely skinny beaded bangles by established beadwork jewelry designers - all of whom have more than one pretty design in their collections. I have featured all of them before.

First up is the medieval queen bangle tutorial by UK designer, VickyRoberts Designs, which is shown above.

Here is South African designer, HeatherCollinBeading's version of the skinny bangle tutorial.  The different colour combinations are endless!

I also love the pops of colour you can have with this bangle tutorial design shown above by SturdyGirlDesigns who is from Illinois.

This one is my favourite - the daisy chain beaded bangle tutorial below from the mother and daughter duo at SimpleBeadPatterns.

I like how just one row of bicones are highlighted in this beaded bangle tutorial by Dutch designer, Gianna Zimmerman of b4pbakup. Gianna is also the creator of the Youtube channel @B4Pbakup

How Millions of Glass Bangles are Made Daily in One Indian City

We can all appreciate how much time it takes to make one bangle out of tiny glass beads. An all glass bangle of the clinky kind is also labour intensive to make. However, a mind boggling number of the latter are made in a single day in the northern Indian city of Firozabad. Millions.

Watch this video which shows how the artisans and cottage crafters manage this feat of making the popular colourful glass bangles. The glass artisans skillfully make bangles from spirals of glass which are then cut into circles. The general idea is much like how metal artisans make jump rings from metal spirals. Men work at the furnaces making the glass spirals while it is the women who rejoin each cut bangle.

Did you know sound is used to separate out broken bangles during the quality control part? I didn't!

From start to finish, each bangle takes 16 hours to make and is entirely handmade.
