What have I been up to over the past year?  Working tirelessly on brand new laser cut designs with my friend and collaborator, Kirsty, of craftsprouts (no website yet).  She is the design lead on the cottage core section here as well as the Halloween designs. These are digital designs although I can and have been cutting physical products as requested. Almost all are design bundles which gives plenty of value.

We have a lot of fun. As you can imagine, with two highly creative minds coming together, a lot of designs do not make the final cut. It is hard to rein in ideas when we have a tendency to go off on tangents! We hope you enjoy the humor and joy behind many of the designs.

NEW DIGITAL DESIGNS

This Big Girl Panties Pocket Hug/Fridge Magnet/ Keychain was the first design we attempted. It's the first of non-jewelry design ideas we hope to launch further along.

You could call it an emotional support and motivational token or charm. These are meant to help those who might be anxious as in "Yes, you can do it!" The different textures can easily felt and can be comforting to some.

Our second design was particularly difficult because many ideas sprouted from it. But in the end, the tiny birdhouse charms for earrings or pendants come with different texture designs which you can use with or without gable layers. The tiny gables are glued on.  I recommend using G-S hypo cement for the gluing as you will need the precision tip.

This adorable rabbit smelling the flowers design for either earrings or pendants is perfect for Easter.  Definitely has Beatrix Potter vibes!

Birds and Flowers came next which plays on popular frames - circles and teardrops.

We also came up with simpler bird designs below.  The birds in the window frames also nicely tie in with the cats in the window frames design a bit further down.

Both of us are cat lovers so this cat design was inevitable! We kind of wandered into these window design via some hobbit doors we attempted to work on.

Then the mushrooms took over!  First the single mushrooms with the option of simple holes or tabbed ones as well as tiny studs. There are 3 pattern styles on offer.

These are our fairy mushroom houses! Look carefully - the middle one has a tiny mouse on top!

We went one step further with a second design set of mushroom houses. We could imagine fairy mushroom houses in the forest so we added flowers. The round design has a second "wreath" layer to glue on. That the fairy mushroom house could be occupied is hinted upon with the teardrop version with chimney smoke!

I love flowers and as many long time readers know, I also love the vase of flowers design idea - see this past wire work tutorial as well as this one which shows how to patina a copper framed pendant. My inspirational wire work flower in vase design in this older post is not a tutorial.

Here is our first set of flowers in vases designs featuring daisies, anemone and grape hyacinths (the last one is both Kirsty and my favorite spring flowers). I haven't yet uploaded the next set of 3.

Also a work in progress are these floral connectors with leaf dangles.  We plan for more floral charms and leaf designs in the future. You can colour and use the flowers and add other charms if you prefer. Or use the leaf ones on their own.

The hungry ghost cat design bundle is a hoot for Halloween and cat lovers alike!

Cat owners/staff can well understand the different ways cats let you know their breakfast is overdue. I had a food loving ginger once who would regularly pounce on me in bed at 6.30 am.  (He also had to be separated from the other cats during mealtimes as he often stole theirs!). My current cat is much more patient and lets me lie in but she will launch into her song of her people if I try and sleep in longer than she likes.

Halloween doesn't have to be "frightening" even for  arachnophobes, with this adorable set of three seasonal favourite elements!

DIY DESIGN CUTS

As I mentioned above, most of our digital designs are not immediately available as physical laser cuts except for the three below so far.  You can contact me and request laser cuts for any of our digital designs.  This saves unnecessary wood inventories.

There are no US tariffs on these wood products. No tariffs either for digital files if you have a laser cutter or have access to one. There are also many laser cutting services around these days.

HOW TO COLOUR LASER CUT WOOD DESIGNS

Given that it is "fright" week,  check out my latest video tutorial on how to use 4 different colouring media to add colour to laser cut and scored Halloween earrings. Tips are included.

I also created a Youtube short which shows how you can use watercolour pencils rather than ordinary ones because you can blend the colours with a wet paintbrush! It features the adorable rabbit design.
