Perhaps some readers have not caught my previous posts on Michelle's work. She is a recycler extraordinaire who takes common household items and transforms them into jewelry. Every design is pure creative genius.

So if you haven't encountered her blog before, check out her most recent tutorial and inspirational post, Comb One, Comb All which features the humble plastic comb!  Her blog posts are often funny, puns and all.

Even if you do not normally make recycled jewelry,  attempting to do some will be excellent exercises to flex your creativity muscles.  Look at uncommon items and ask yourself how you could change it into something pretty to wear.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. What a great idea! Thanks for sharing. Makes me wonder how many of those hair combs I have packed away! :-)

  4. So I was combing through my reader this morning and found this post...hee. Thanks, Pearl, so nice of you to feature my hair comb jewels!

  5. They were absolutely brilliant! I never knew plastic combs could be so glamorous! Pearl

  6. I really like the look of the faux tortoise shell combs used in the featured piece as it mimics true tortoise shell. Tortoise are either a protected or an endangered species and I believe the use of their shells is still banned, so this would be a wonderful and guilt free way to add the look of their shell in one's jewelry. Most clever.

  7. Love this idea! I'm all for recycling and it's fascinating to see what others come up with. Thanks for sharing!
